Overview:
Performs and monitors all change and release activities, making sure the changes requested do not have unexpected effects on the production landscape. Provides primary support for a business process area as well as IT audit coordination. Coordinates with various groups in order to assist in the packaging and releasing of changes into the QA and production landscapes. Leads efforts to improve change and release control processing efficiencies and effectiveness, as well as provides mentoring of established practices, tools, and techniques for the group.

Responsibilities:
" Provides mentoring of established practices, tools, and techniques for the group

" Provides coordination support for IT audit

" Coordinates the release schedule and provides target release dates for proposed changes

" Analyzes process effectiveness and compliance and makes quality improvement recommendations

" Assists in the development, promotion, and enforcement of change/release control management processes

" Assists and/or facilitates the development and implementation of automated workflow processes

" Performs and monitors release activities

" Ensures change and transport requests do not have unexpected effects on the production landscape

" Consults with key people in various groups to coordinate activities

" Works closely with configurators and developers to bundle changes effectively for release

" Works closely with the Environment Management (basis) administrators to ensure changes are migrated in a timely manner

" Works with Third-Party Hosting contacts to ensure changes reviewed and migrated effectively

" Makes use of change/release control, transport control, and incident/problem tracking software

" Provides mentoring of established practices and techniques for the group.

" Provides management reporting

" Participates in all requirements for achieving team goals

" Provides Production Support of SAP Solution Manager ChaRM

" Performs additional duties as required

Qualifications:

Educational / Experience:

" H.S. Diploma or equivalent required; Degree in Management Information Services preferred

" Minimum 5-7 years of overall IT work experience

" Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the change/release control management

" Strong understanding of the change/release control management process

" Strong understanding of the governance and audit requirements for the change control management process

" Strong understanding of change control management tools such as SAP ChaRM, Remedy Change Request, etc

" Strives to increase knowledge in corporate business functions as well as technical knowledge
