Job Title: SAP Functional Analyst III - OM # Positions: 1
Overview: Provides senior-level functional expertise in the development of SAP interfaces to third party applications and external customers and leads the implementation of configuration changes within the assigned functional area(s), in addition to performing ongoing maintenance and support.
Responsibilities:
- Provides functional expertise within and across multiple functional areas to confirm business requirements definition.
- Provides guidance and insights about the nature and implementation of the modules associated with the specified functional area(s) and other related functional areas as needed, to the implementation teams, subject matter experts, end users, IT specialists, Systems Integrator(s), and other internal and external resources.
- Defines, documents and performs (or oversees less experienced Functional Analysts in performing) configuration changes and identifies potential programming modifications necessary to meet the business requirements for all of the ERP modules and/or related systems within the functional area.
- Provides oversight to less experienced Functional Analysts as required.
- Updates tickets with status and sends email notifications timely and accurately.
- Responds to emails and v-mails in an appropriate timeframe.
- Participates in change management and release management activities relating to the assigned functional area(s).
- Facilitates and/or participates in functional and technical solution reviews with management staff, developers, architects, and infrastructure (i.e., Basis) representatives.
- Responsible for resolving and troubleshooting solution defects, including interface support, debugging, and functional support within the assigned functional area(s) as necessary.
- Collaborates with all levels of the organization on project schedules, risks, and issues relating to the assigned modules within functional area.
- Works cross-team with Business and Functional Analysts to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Keeps project leadership and stakeholders informed of progress on tasks and issues requiring follow-up.
- Provides expertise in the preparation and validation of test cases and test planning, supervises and participates in testing activities related to the assigned functional area(s) (including unit, integration and user acceptance testing).
- Provides guidance and expertise relating to the assigned functional area(s) for the set up and support of Production and non-Production environments.
- Works cross-team with other Functional Analysts to develop standards and establish processes for the creation and on-going maintenance of documentation related to configuration changes.
- Reviews and recommends training classes and materials related to the assigned functional area(s).
- Attends focus groups and participates in SAP communities to keep apprised of breaking trends and potential strategies which may be used to further enhance support for the assigned functional area(s).
- Records time in record keeping system accurately and timely.
- Participates in all requirements for achieving team goals.
- Complies with all corporate and department policies and procedures.
- Provides after hours support.
- Travels as required to fulfill assigned tasks.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: - Bachelors degree required in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. In lieu of degree one of the below prerequisites would be required: - High School Diploma + 12 years of experience in the field - 2-year Associates Degree + 6 years of experience in the same field - 3 years of education toward a Bachelors degree + 2 years of experience in the same field.
Experience: - Minimum 5 years of overall IT work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of SAP experience in all SAP modules related to the assigned functional area of OM.
- Minimum 5 years food service or related industry experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of the SAP Sales and Distribution including material master, customer master, and organizational setups as well as a working knowledge of related product modules/product suites, business processes (including complex business process flows and functional diagrams), navigation mechanics, configuration requirements and integration with other modules.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in working with iDoc formats.
- Working familiarity with EDI formats
- Experience in ABAP programming and de-bugging
- Experience in working with SAP PI, XI and other netweaver tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of change control and release management processes.
- In-depth knowledge of project management (through entire project lifecycle) methodologies and practices.
- Working knowledge of the Remedy ticketing software or software providing similar functionality to resolve incidents.
- Experience with Visio, Microsoft Office, Business Objects, Microsoft Project and Process Modeling tools.
