THIS POSITION IS ON HOLD AS OF 9/22/11 POSITION PURPOSE
The SAP Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for the hands-on design and development of new SAP Business Intelligence and Business Objects solutions, predominantly in the areas of Enterprise Data Warehousing, Enterprise Reporting, Query and Analysis, and Analytical Services. Responsibilities also include day-to-day maintenance, support, and enhancement of the existing SAP BI/BOBJ environments. The focus of this position will be in developing end user reporting solutions through the BOBJ toolset, working in close connection with the SAP BW developers and the BI Architect. While the position will focus on end user report writing, there are plenty of opportunities to be exposed and to further develop skillsets for SAP BW development
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with both functional and technical project personnel, providing in-depth knowledge of BI information delivery/presentation methodology
· Thorough understanding of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence best practices is required
· Strong ability to extract and document requirements from end users
· Develop and enforce a Business Intelligence/BusinessObjects Strategy and Reporting Architecture including System Design
· Provide leadership in developing a design and building BusinessObjects Web Intelligence Reports, Universes and Xcelsius dashboards
· Assist in the installation and configuration of BusinessObjects XI R3.1/XI R2 Server and Desktop products
· Provide general assistance, advice, and critiques to various team members as well as management personnel regarding such matters as new or improved system design, testing and implementation techniques, documentation adequacy, user acceptance testing, and application efficiency/integrity
· Lead requirement gathering sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed solution. Take initiative in helping the end users in understanding how to use information to further their business goals.
· The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to accuracy and detail.
EXPERIENCE
· 4 years of experience in analysis, design, development, customization, implementation, and installation of software applications and BI tools.
· Involved on at least two full life cycle BW/BOBJ Implementations for medium to large projects of high complexity.
· Designing, modeling, and building data structures and data mapping routines in SAP BW to support the data and reporting requirements for all areas of the organization
· Needs to participate in both high level and detailed planning and design discussion with Business Analysts and end users.
· Some experience in designing, building data structures and data mapping routines in SAP BW to support the data and reporting requirements for all areas of the organization
· Hands-on development experience with Business Objects WebI, Universe Designer, Live Office, Crystal Reports, Voyager, Query as a Web Service, LifeCycle Manager(LCM) , and Xcelsius
· Demonstrated experience using Business Objects Universe Designer to create BO universes against BW as a data source. Extensive experience developing with Web Intelligence (Webi) and Xcelsius against BW
· Ability to administer security, perform maintenance and enhancements to existing software in the BO XI 3.1 environment
· Some development experience with SAP BW, including ODS, Info Cube, MultiProvider, and BEx query development. Knowledge of Extractors and Process Chains
· Knowledge and experience in Various SAP modules such as FI/CO, PP, MM, PM, APO.
· Experience being a trainer of SAP BusinessObjects
· Extensive experience with advanced development concepts such as data modeling, SQL queries, cardinality, complex joins, loop detection, prompting, performance tuning, row level security, etc.
· Migration experience between two or more major versions of BusinessObjects
· Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
· Clear communication skills and the ability to align priorities and reach consensus in meetings is a must
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree is required. Degree in Engineering, MIS/Computer Science, or a related field is strongly preferred.
· Preferred - BOCP (BusinessObjects Certified Professional) and/or related Pearson VUE certification(s).
